In this one-week workshop we'll talk about what it means to listen, how listening is an act of love, and how we can learn to do it better. We'll also commit during the week to listen more deeply to those around us, and to share what we are discovering. |
-
Please start by introducing yourselves.
As part of your introduction, please respond to the following questions:
- Why do you think it is important to listen?
- What are the challenges to listening well?
- What would the world be like if people were better at listening to each other?
-
During the week, please watch the following videos and share your responses:
-
Moving from conversation into action:
As you go about your daily lives this week...
- Be mindful of the opportunities that present themselves for you to listen, and observe how you respond.
- See if you can find someone to talk to, and give them your complete attention for 20 or 30 minutes (or more, if you want). What was the experience like? What did you learn?
